((Ama)-The Character In This Story Is The One In The Image Above.
Now, Ama hadn’t been happy for some days now.
The psychologist had diagnosed her of having the problem of depression.
Most things hadn’t pleased her in her life: the marriage that landed in divorce, the job she did and her colleagues weren’t happy people either.
She picked up her bag and walked out of her room to the car park.
Her beautiful car was parked in front of the outside stairs.
Well, she had to head for the bank. She wanted some money before evening fell or she wouldn’t be able to buy some groceries.
She steered her car out of the house and shortly followed the tail of a wagon.
The bank was about 30 blocks down the street.
As she got closer to the bank she pulled over to the side.
Wearing her shades before getting down, she strolled past the security man who gave her a weak salute, which she readily returned with a smile, and with voiceless thank you.
The banking hall was packed with people, with some seated and many others in a queue.
Now, the services of that beautiful bank was fast. By 20 minutes, she was already heading straight out out the bank’s giant glass doors.
Pulling each aside, she headed straight for the car.
‘‘Give me money,’’ a voice spoke on her left, as she got closer to the car.
It was a poor old woman by the side of the road-she looked a bit horrible.
”Please, have mercy on me and help this woman by the road,’’ the woman cried and pleaded with her.
She was so touched as she wondered what could have made this poor woman fall into such a social ‘pit.’
Little did she know, it was no fault of hers and that; unfortunately, she was born as a pauper and had lived on the streets for years.
Ama quickly then slipped her hand into her bag, took out a ‘fresh’ dollar note together with coins, and gave it to her. What happiness flowed from her eyes.
She was just saying, ‘‘Thank you, thank you and thank you, mum.’’
Ama was caught by those words making her eyes to let out some tears.
In all, she was just pleased with her, by the whole touch of events.
The lovely words of ‘‘thank you,’ felt so good on the inside or her. Yes, the woman’s face lit with smiles and light. As well, she was happy she took the decision to help her.
For years, she has been so skeptical about paupers but this one felt so real on the inside; and actually, it was real!
‘‘Wait a minute!’’
That moment, it dawned on her that she hadn’t been extremely delightful or happy like this, for so long a time; even not in the days when she was married to Peterson.
Nothing had felt so delightful down the years, than feeling sorrowful and helping the poor old woman. It was a kind of happiness which crushed the sad years of pain, blankets of stress and rejection.
Yes, she stood there in shock, as she looked at the woman move away from her. She could obviously see that her demeanor had changed.
This when it dawned on her that, she could make herself happy if she could rather live her life by making other people happy. It will be like the Law of Karma. (So, she gives out and will then get back what she wanted always).
She perfectly thought this with a tear in her hand.
So, on that day she decided to set-up a foundation, to go on doing good and delivering all that were oppressed.
Coming from a rich home, she hadn’t really thought about how the less privileged or the poor felt in life.
So, she ran to the woman, calling on her again, and with an additional 3 dollars in her hand she slipped the notes into her hands and gently clinched her fist against her money.
Regardless of anything that ma happen to her, she realized that she could live the rest of her life being happy with this new way of living. Now, she can find a perfect perfect meaning in life forever and she wouldn’t need to find that in Google, either.
Finally, to multiply her joy, she took out her arms and gave her a warm hug for about three and a half minutes.
After showing to her these additional acts of kindness, Ama returned back to her car; then she waved the woman with an uncontrolled heart which was ready to cause her eyes to bring a new tear.
She got the understanding that happiness could come from living for other people, as God will move and live because of men.
She got into her car, and drove away, with lots of love in her heart, even as God would.
Then Ama fully started becoming happy.
